How do I pass the NYS Pre-licensing course?

You MUST spend at least 5 hours in the course.

The State of New York requires that you spend a minimum of 5 hours in the course, going through the content and learning the material. However, time can vary based on your learning speed and how often you start or stop the course, which is why many of our students spend more than 5 hours.

You MUST complete the course within 30 days from the registration date.

The State of New York requires anyone who starts taking the program to complete it within 30 days from the registration date.  If you do not complete the course with this timeframe, the course will become expired. You will be disqualified, locked out and will be required to purchase a new course and start over in a new course enrollment regardless of your progress. You will have to pay for a new course enrollment; however, you will not have to pay full price.  If this happens, click the re-enroll button on your Course Dashboard. 

You MUST get at least 7 questions correct on each unit exam.

There is a 10-question, multiple-choice exam at the end of each unit. In order to pass the course, you have to pass the unit exams with at least a 70%. If you don't pass the exam, use that time to review the material so you pass the next time! You only have (3) three consecutive attempts to pass the exam prior to being locked out. You will then be disqualified, locked out and will be required to purchase a new course and start over in a new course enrollment regardless of your progress. You will have to pay for a new course enrollment; however, you will not have to pay full price.

You MUST answer at least 10 personal validation questions correctly throughout the course.

At the beginning of the course, you will answer 10 personal validation questions (PVQs) that will be asked throughout the course to ensure that you are you. You will have (3) three consecutive attempts to pass validations prior to being locked out. You will then be disqualified, locked out and will be required to purchase a new course and start over in a new course enrollment regardless of your progress. You will have to pay for a new course enrollment; however, you will not have to pay full price. 

You MUST at least pass at least 7 random validations throughout the course.

If you cannot pass, you will then be disqualified, locked out and will be required to purchase a new course and start over in a new course enrollment regardless of your progress. You will have to pay for a new course enrollment; however, you will not have to pay full price.
